I was just thinking.. it seems like there are not factory rear speaker locations in the 86 CRX... where do you put speakers? Also, was there ever a 'cargo cover' for the rear trunk area in these cars? Or was it totall exposed and visible to anyone looking into the back of the car?
Thanks!

ok...for a crx i don't know about cargo covers, probably not, tint and louvers would be your friend, they had rear speaker brackets that went on the rear suspension towers, but i just have a box with 2 6.5"s and a box with one 15" back there
There are 3 goals when modding a car.
Cheap, Reliable, and Fast.
Now the down side. You only get to pick 2...
Fact: A recent study shows that 92% of all teenagers have turned Emo.
Put this in your sig if you're one of the 8% who stayed gangster as $h!t.

Two 6" speakers fit nicely in the flat panel between the tail light access panels (just below the hatch). Or try to find a set of optional factory rear speaker brackets and covers that will place the speakers above the rear shock towers.
The cargo cover was a dealer option, it's difficult to find one in good condition.

Here is a pic of the rear speaker covers and brackets.
And, if you are interested, these are for sale. THey are for a blue interior, but could always be painted. I will sell them cheap if you want them.

VERY nice!!! Looks like you have quite a bit of experience with custom enclosures and stuff. I would never be able to build something like that!!!

No, my blue crx is for luxury use only. I'll drive it to work about every other day but don't use it to haul anything but me.

Now I get the total picture. Kind of like home theatre in a small box! JS

That is by far one of the nicest enclosures I have ever seen for a CRX.
I too have had issues with where to put speakers. Course if you want anything larger than 6X9s you need a good box enclosure and there does not seem to be any way of doing it except for taking up half your hauling space. I would love a good sub enclosure yet have the car still look like stock.
Think one could be made from the spare tire well?

This man is a professional, do not attempt this at home.
