So my girlfriend's 3G stalls randomly when we're driving it. Sometimes it'll start right away, sometimes it takes a couple minutes, or even won't start to the point where we just leave it on the side of the road. There's no CEL on either.
A couple months ago her bro replaced the timing belt and water pump because it was overheating. He ended up leaving the thermostat out and hooking the fan up to a switch. So the overheating was solved. Ghetto rigged but it works. I'm paralyzed n in a wheelchair from a wreck in 05'. So I can't get in there to fix it right.
Then a month or so ago it started doing this stalling thing. Since then the only thing done was replacing the intake manifold gasket. Anybody have any idea on what it could be?

When it stalls are there dash light on, batt, oil, ? See if the dash lights flicker when you move the ignition key up down back forward, jiggle it! if flickers it is a bad ignition switch. you can buy just the electric part. good luck Mark..

The main relay under the dash on the drivers side is a real common problem on those. It will cut out randomly and take time to cool off before it works again... If they work again...
