Does the upper radiator hose inlet have a gasket? I've looked through the service manual here and can't find any reference to it at all. (Not even an exploded diagram with it being taken off)
I took it off thinking the thermostat was under there. -I should have looked at the service manual on here first.
I used a little blue RTV to put it back together and now it leaks like crazy.
any help please.

I don't recall ever seeing or using a gasket there.
I use Hondabond (or an equivalent) to seal it. Never had mine leak though.

If you love the Elise, drive a Se7en - Caterham or whatever...
It has even less content than the Elise, is less graceful looking
...and changes direction like a ping pong ball whacked by Thor.

If you are speaking of the one under the distributor, yes, but it is the thermostat that has the gasket, now if you are speaking of the one that connects the water bypass for the heater core and the waterpump pipe, no, but you may have a leak from one of your hoses,
If you are checking the one connected to the head (thermostat housing) make sure your bottom bolt is tightened properly.
Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

Just make sure its clean and dry and use a small dab of Honda Bond. Let it set and dry before refilling.
