16 Valve Or 12 Valve

i have a 87 crx dx it has a webber 38 carb and a d15a2 and i am going to do some head work to it and i have a 86 crx i use for parts with a ew1 motor and it has a 16 valve head and im am going to get a colt cam for my car i have alredy talked to the guys and i decided thats whare i want to do buisness but what i cant decide maby you can the head on my car is 12 valve it says 8 but its really 12 but my other car has the 16 valve head and im trying t figure out what head would be my best bet when modyfing i plan on a lil valve work and as i said a cam i just dont know witch one i should send him i dont know witch head would be better for me to use

that isn't so much a 16valve head... it has 12valves +4 "auxiliary" valves. you have an HF head or something like that, with 8 normal valves plus the 4 CVCC auxiliary valves... google cvcc to see what I'm talking about. the 12 valve (16) head is the better of the two but you're better off contacting a canadian member or posting a WTB ad looking for a canadian DX head- it fits exactly like stock and works perfectly... without the cvcc bullshit.


I repeat, both of those heads are boat anchors... get some money for their aluminum.

well i had thought about that i know about the cvcc but i dont really have the money to be buying a non cvcc head or i would im trien to build this car on basically dimes and nickles i dont really buy a part unless i get it on ebay or something for fairley cheep but thaks alot for the help
