I am working with a local fabricator who does a lot of roundy round parts, he has made a few small parts for my H5 car and is doing some repairs on some other parts for my car including my 4 into 1 header. He is asking me see if there is any market for a high end custom made 4 into 1 header. They will be tig welded and have a bung for your o2 sensor. The exit on them will be 2.5 inch. Please post or PM me if you are interested.

The price will be dependent on how many sets he will be making.

This header will be for the D15a3/EW4. It will also work on the DX.

I should have put that in the first post. They are for the 85-87 Si. They will also work on the DX.

the Dx....? which one is that? not mine right..... sorry i get thrown by all the acronyms sometimes, i deal with them everyday with computers and cars and my work stuff.... that and i have this short term memory problem...... dry.gif wink.gif

i should just ask: will they fit the 1.3/1.5L carbed vehicles (which i think is what the dx is?)

They will fit the 1.5 litre carbed engines as well. I am not sure about the 1.3.

Buford's right, the Dx's have less clearance for the downpipe section compared to an Si's oil pan.

The 1.5 & 1.3 exhaust ports are identical. It will fit either head no problem.

If you love the Elise, drive a Se7en - Caterham or whatever...
It has even less content than the Elise, is less graceful looking

Depends on the price. There's a couple headers out ther for the Si in summit, and I recall seeing others somewhere else. All were 4-1 except one which is 4-2-1.

Under steer is when you hit the wall with your front end.
Over steer is when you hit the wall with your rear end.
Horsepower is how hard you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you move the wall.

Just make it fit the DX oilpan configuration and all will be good and anyone can put it on whatever. I would actually consider one myself.

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

Your local fab shop prolly already knows this but when making any header, the runners have to be exactly the same length to the collector for the header to create the sucking effect. The sucking effect im talking about is when one piston fires it pushes exhaust out, on its way out of the runner, it will pass the other tubes and pull the next pistion around thats on its exhaust stroke. if that makes any sence at all. Thats why there is such a variance of performance gain between headers. Longer the header before the runners meet, the better low end. Shorter the runners, the better the high end. if you were to make a 4-2-1, the runners should exit and meet the opposite cylinder thats on its exhaust stroke when the other one is on its power stroke. IE. Cylinder 1 and 4, 2 and 3, then back together at the bottom. Make sence?

Another thought, Im sure that you could make a universal one for the dx and si with a flex pipe after then collector, that would cost more money tho.

If it was made to fit the Si, it could fit the 1.3 and 1.5 with an Si oil pan swap. Can you give us a ballpark range of a price? I'm probably getting the chikara off of jc whitney if this is going to be super expensive. Its only like $150.

I'm interested, if it's cheaper than something I can get from JC Whitney or Summit...
