Okay I have an 86 crx, The vin (which i cant get right now, we have 3 feet of snow) says its an SI, however it has no rear wiper(even though there looks to be a hole for it that was pluged), no electric sunroof, and the plastic spoiler that is not connected to the car it is bolted on

Ok looks like a DX.

ya that is definitely a dx or hf the si's have bigger bumpers the interior is a little bit different and the si's also have different side skirts and of coarse what chedda_j said about the motor difference

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he has silver lower rocker panels which came on the '84 only. After that they were darker grey. And yeh, look under the hood.

im pretty positive its not an 84. The guy has the original reciept from 86 from the dealership, i think the panels were repainted, theres not a scratch on them, and the underside is a darker grey
And it doesn't have the original engine, i blew my timing belt and the valves and pistons were screwed so i bought a new carb engine for 200$ plus shipping from Japan

haha no its an old man, i doubt that, and all the VIN's on the car except the one on the block are the same...actually i dont even care, soon its not going to resemble what it did at first at all. Thanks for the help
