what brake pads do you use for the ca3 dual pot calipers?

I'm running 86-89 Teg pads.

I have been in Leadership School last month and half, so work on the civic has been pretty much not existent. I did get another part in.

Sorry guys. Life has been busy.

Some progress not a lot. I installed new garage lighting, picked up a few more parts, and have been working on a wiring tuck. I hope to be done with the tuck in the next few weeks. I will be picking up a new windshield and half size rad this weekend.

Here are a few pics of the parts I've picked up.

JDM ZC Valve Cover

Just need to see if my body guy can get it color matched to the brown "H" valve cover I have.

A few new decals

White "Civic" decal for the Si red tail light panel.

Black "Civic" decal for the DX red tail light panel.

Now should I go with the black or the white decal and should I change out the Silver DOHC decal for Black?

I will have pics of the tuck in the next week or so.

Thanks for keeping interest.

Just about have the wiring tuck squared away.

Since I'm adding Cruise Control to my car. I had to install a sedan washer bottle on the right side under the air box. Doing so resulted in not running all of the factory air tubing. So I started looking into some way to pull the air from the inner fender thru the original hole in the inner structure.

While at my local yard today, I came across this neat little part off of a sedan.

So now all I have to do is trim it back to match the core support and fab up a little elbow to connect the air box to the sedan fresh air tube.

The rear suspension is in thanks to CheddaJ.

Integra axle, Bilstien shocks, 2.5in coils, coil seats, and adjustable panhard bar.

What came from CheddaJ and can you confirm that the Bilstiens fit in a CRX? Any part numbers and info on coils would be appreciated? JS

From Cheeda. Adjustable pan hard bar, 2.5" upper coil spring adapter, and Locking plate.

The Bilsteins will fit the CRX as well.

CA3 Accord dual pot write up.

I picked up the fast brake kit and VW Corrodo G60 11" rotors.

After some test fitting I found out that the stock Teg/CA3 caliper brackets do not fit.

photo_zpsb2f0781f.jpg

Here is why.

The Fast Brakes kit fits our cars, but they require different calipers.

So, determined to use this kit with my dual pots. Mainly because I paid for everything and figured out what parts to use to rebuild the dual pots. I started doing some research. I learned that the Mini Cooper rotors is an option. Here is what I came up with...

Stock Teg rotor is 242x44.2 with a hub bore of 65.5

VW Corrado  is     278x33 larger, requiring the spacer ring

Mini                       280x44x65.5

With the Mini rotor having the same hub bore and pretty much the same height, I picked up a set.

Here is what I came up with...

photo_zps4b0b9ffd.jpg

The caliper bracket just about bolt up. I had to open up the brackets to get them to fully fit. I will still have to open them up a bit more.

photo_zps566f9d38.jpg

Not sure if you can see it or not, but the Mini rotor has a larger hub than what was shown on the dimensions. I will have to open the rotor hub bore a little to accept the Fast Brakes spacer ring. Note: Please excuse the wiring, I'm still working the tuck and that is extra wiring.

I hope this helps anyone that is thinking about using this Fast Brake kit with stock calipers.

Do you recent life events, I am able to change the direction of the build. Going from an easy DD to a high compression road race type build.

I received a some new parts this week.

Wow. I can't believe its been over a yr since I have updated this. All of the suspension is in. Most of the interior is in. I am waiting on my OBD1 tuck harness before finishing up the interior. Then on to restoring the fuel tank, installing the windshield, LSD in the trans, engine build, and final assembly and paint.

I thought it was time for an up date again.

Wiring tuck is almost down. OBD1 harness is waiting to be installed.

Build is moving pretty strong. I'm pushing to have this thing back in paint at the end of two months.

Acre's Hatch

Had a chance today to really cruise through the build. Doing some great stuff. That rotor upgrade info is killer. Can't wait to see it put together.

Thank you.
After all of the work getting the Mini rotors clearanced for the hub ring, opening the mounting bracket to clear the rotor. I found that with the pads installed. I could not get the calipers on. I had other options, like mechining the pads backings. I decided to go with the Integra rotors. I may dive back into the larger rotor stuff later on.
