Hi all,

There's an S-shaped molded coolant hose connects under the throttle body and on the block between the air intake manifold and a larger heater hose. I can't find a replacement for it, I've got a piece of bulk hose on there at the moment, but because of the shape I can't get it to sit without a kink. I can't find it on any of the auto parts websites, can anyone help please?

Thanks!

Some ideas come to mind. One would be to go to Lowes or Home Depot and find a tightly wound spring that just fits over the hose. The spring will flex but keep the hose from kinking. Or shape a small rod, like for brazing, in the required shape and zip tie/electrical tape the hose to it. Same effect. You could also just use a much longer piece.

I know I come up with some rigged redneck stuff but hey.... I do fear you won't be able to find an original.

See if one of these is the one you're talking about.

Per GeezRX:

Gates #18020 hose can be used for oil cooler to water pipe connection – actually used 18021 for this with remainders used for intake valve to water tube connection.

Gates #18206 used for oil cooler to engine block connection with remainder used elsewhere (?).

Gates #18201 used for manifold “tube” to small fitting on top of thermostat housing.

Gates #18700 used for rear of thermostat housing big connector to cylinder head intake side connection.

Thanks, I know there are forming springs made specifically for this purpose, and it looks like that's what I'll have to do. I tried using a longer piece, but there's so much other crap in the way , you know how it is..

Thanks, I had found a thread from a long time ago with a list of hoses, and none of them are this particular one. I wonder if, maybe, I could take #18201 and twist it sideways and maybe make it fit. Could you remind me how to post photos in here? Then I could post a photo of the particular hose I'm talking about.
