I did it on a hatch. They were slightly off but you can make them fit but then they dont slide wonderful but you can get them switched and bolted in with some coaxing

Yes, I have swapped seats L-R on a couple of CRXs. If lean in from outside, to release the recliner/seatback, the headrest can hit you in the head...

I've always had mine swapped, the handle is just a little harder to get to! Mine didn't require any coaxing to get in.

Thanks for the replies. I have two perfect passenger seats, two crappy drivers seats. I can swap the tracks to keep driver's tracks on that side, I was concerned about he seat back lever hitting the the console around the parking brake handle. Would it be better if I modified the mount brackets at all, moving the seat either way side to side a half inch or so? Or no need to do anything at all? Any issues getting the seat belt buckled? Mike

I have not done this but posted some similar a while back and took measurements. So it appears that the actual seating area are identical, but the vinyl on the sides of the seats are different just a tiny bit to make room for the seat levers.
Not that most people would do this, but my plan is to disassemble the passenger seats and use the good material to rebuild the drivers side. BUt this is for restoration purposes. If it were for my DD, then I'd just swap and go like the guys are talking about.

That was going to be my next question... Can I put my passenger skin on the driver's? It looks like the seat is shaped a little different, but this would be the way to go for sure...

I have done this many times on 2nd gen seats and just from looking it will probably be even easier on a first gen seat. You can swap over the foams too and have a like new drivers seat.

In my 87 CRX Si... the passenger seat side bolsters hold you in the seat better... so I switched them in my CRX.

I have one of those JC Whitney generic center arm rests...if you swap the seats around, it won't fit between them.
Laugh if you want, it runs
