As to the lower ones, you have to take the mirrors off, and there are two screws. One up by the mirror, and one in the back edge of the door (the part that is hidden when the door is shut). That one is a plastic screw, which just turned and turned to no avail, on both doors. I popped a screwdriver under them and snapped them off.
My plan is to sand, de-rust, and paint the metal trim pieces, but it looks like they were bonded together with the rubber outside window seal, and the interior fuzzy window seal. The outer seals were cracked and nasty, so I just cut them off with a box cutter. The metal is cleaning up nicely, and I think will look great with a fresh coat of paint. Unfortunately, water will run right off the windows, down into the doors. Not good. Anyone figure out how to restore these trim pieces?

I do not remember the exact figure but 160 sticks in my mind.
I'd gladly pay that for a restored set.

Can someone clarify that the adjuster knobs for the side mirrors pull off? I'm repainting my moldings too, but can't get my mirror off because of the knobs. I don't know if they twist or slide off and don't want to force them too hard without knowing the right method.
Thanks!

The end of the adjuster "knob" or handle is a plastic cap. On the back of it (the rounded end, not the pointy end) has a small cut out for you to get a small screwdriver or even your fingernail in, to pop it off. Once you pop that off, inside there is a small Phillips head screw that you remove to take the "knob" off. Good luck.

I have 2 ideas on how to solve this problem. The exterior bottom window molding is almost the same as new hondas. you just need to get some that is long enough like from a 2 door accord and slightly modify it.
My other solution is to coat the trim with the thick can of plasti dip. I think it would build up the seal nicely. Mine are not bad enough to try ether method yet.
you're in california of coarse it's ILLEGAL!!!!!
