Project : 2 Crx's, 1 Teg And An Overfender Kit For Sale

08 August 2010 - 12:48 PM

hi folks. im looking at seeing if i can sell my project as is, if not ill prob keep it for a bit longer. because its 3 cars and a overfender kit, you would prob have to come pick it up. because the one crx is only for parts, you could prob get away with taking the one crx, the teg, the overfenderkit, and stripping the crx si of whatever you need so its less to carry back. I would like to sell as a package. here is some more info:
Putting up a feeler for sale for my project. I have for sale 2 crx’s and 1 integra that I was going to make into one project car: a 1987 crx si, a 1984 crx hf and a 1988 integra ls. The 84 crx is originally from cali, and is 99% rust free. The 87 crx si is fairly rusty, but has the si trim and is fuel injected. The 88 integra I bought for the drivetrain and suspension, runs and drives well, but is rusty. All parts are there to complete the project, I have just decided if I get a good enough offer I will move on to a different project. All cars will be sold as is. I do not want to separate them at this point. All cars come with a clean record and all necessary paperwork. I have some aftermarket parts, such as sparkplugs, plug wires, stainless steel brake lines, tokico brakes, aftermarket rear springs, and some other goodies. I also have a rare Obrien Motorsport fender flare kit. The kit extends the fenders by 50mm or so. The kit has been discontinued, is 1 of 5 left know in existence, and is (i think) the only unmounted one. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Im a bit flexible on the price, but if I don’t get a decent offer I will just keep the project for now.
special rpr price: $1700 for it all.
(aftermarket rims pictured on crx are not for sale)

O'brien Motorsports Fibreglass Flare Kit For Sale

05 August 2010 - 10:21 PM

Hi folks. as some of you know, i was lucky enough to find an O'Brien Motorsports Fibreglass flare kit for the 1st gen crx. well, the way my projects looking it looks like i might be selling the kit. Im not 100% sure yet, but if i get a decent enough offer I will probably take it. Im not exactly sure what this kit is worth or what to ask for it, so I will probably say for now to pm me your offers, if thats ok with the site admin (want to make sure im within forum rules). I dont know a ton about the kit, but I do know they are discontinued (to the best of my knowledge), and this is one of five left known to exist, and i believe the only unmounted one. I believe that to be the case, but cant say for 100%. Also, it should be noted that I live in Canada, so thats something to consider when thinking about shipping. Here are some pictures of the kit. The one fender that is grey appears to be made after the others, and the fiberglass is still a little rough around the edges. all pieces are solid, and given their age are in pretty good shape. oh, and i believe the kit flares the fenders out about 50mm or so. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Partly A Build Thread, Partly A Story

05 June 2010 - 11:35 PM

Hello RPR gang. I’ve been fortunate enough to be a member of this wonderful website for 3 years. When I first joined, I did not own a first gen crx, third gen civic, or civic wagon. Since then, I have become the owner of two first gen crx’s, and recently a first gen integra. I haven’t really made a build thread on here before, because frankly, I haven’t built my crx that much, but I will get more into why later. I am at a point now in my life where I will be more likely to actually start building the car, so I wanted to start a thread that I could document what I have done over the last three years, and what I will eventually do in the future. Also, the girlfriend is out of town for the weekend, so I’m pretty bored lol. And in case you haven’t noticed by now, I kinda like to document in a story like fashion, so hopefully that’s ok with you guys. I will try and add lots of pictures where I can so its not quite so boring / lots of reading. Well, here we go…..

The Past Three Years

Part one: A little info on me

Well, I am 22 years old. I live in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. I grew up in a fairly mechanically active household, with a father who worked in a garage most of his life and now works as a parts store manager, and with a brother who works at a parts store as well. I would consider myself to have very basic mechanical skills. I can take an interior out and put it back in, change a few different filters, swap rims, etc. but am by no means a competent mechanic. I’m not ashamed of this or anything, I believe the only way to get better is through time and effort, I just felt that to tell you guys my story/build it would make more sense to mention that. Also, I just finished getting my three year bachelor of science degree, with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. That is probably the biggest reason I haven’t really gotten much done with my crx’s over the years, because it took up most of my time and money lol. I have owned quite a few different cars in my life so far, with some being daily drivers, and other simply projects for a while. I have owned the following: 1990 plymouth sundance, 1965 chevy impala, 1995 pontiac sunfire, 1975 ford ranchero gt, 1976 ford stationwagon, 1990 nissan 240sx, 1991 mitsubishi 3000gt, 1991 volkswagon passat stationwagon, 1990 volkswagon passat sedan, 1988 honda accord, 1987 honda crx si, 1984 honda crx hf, 1990 acura integra. I think that’s it, but I might remember one I forgot later lol. If you guys have questions about any of them feel free to ask, heres a few pics of some of them just for fun:

For You Topgear Fans

21 May 2010 - 09:56 AM

hey folks. i saw in the kakabox thread this was discussed, so instead of threadjacking more, i figured id make a new thread. for you topgear fans, i saw alot of people link to youtube clips, so i figured id let you know about a different, better site for topgear. you should watch it on www streetfire net . the site has pretty much every season, and has full episodes, as well as just clips. also, when a new season starts, the episodes are loaded up quickly after they appear on tv, so if you missed them you can catch up quick. the site is all about cars, so there are probably other videos you guys will like too. i have no affiliation to the site, but i enjoy it so i thought i would tell you guys about it too. its like youtube, but strictly automotive laugh.gif

here are some of my fav episodes, in full:

season 10, episode 4:
The boys head to Botswana in Africa, buy cheap cars, and then drive across the land
http://www.streetfir...sion_714417.htm

Season 14, episode 6:
the boys head to south america, buy cheap cars sight unseen, and then cross the land
http://www.streetfir...sode_726931.htm

not the full episode, but the clips of where the boys have to make low budget police cars:
http://www.streetfir...enge_206902.htm

season 14, episode 2:
the boys build a eco friendly car, the hammerhead eagle I thrust:
http://www.streetfir...sode_725127.htm

top gears race to the north pole: jeremy and james drive, richard takes dog sled:
http://www.streetfir...sion_714665.htm

the porsche challenge:
http://www.streetfir...enge_694396.htm

top gear in the usa challenge:
http://www.streetfir...r-uk_690836.htm

season 8, episode 3:
the amphibious car challenge:
http://www.streetfir...d-on_179657.htm

i know there are alot more good episodes, but i thought that was enough to start things off. i also realize i posted more the trips and challenges than the actual review episodes, but thats just because i prefer those ones lol. please feel free to post more links to episodes or clips, top gear is awesome.

Question About Rim Fitment On 1st Gen Crx

17 April 2010 - 08:53 PM

hi guys. i have an opportunity to trade for some rims i really like, but before i do so i figured i would ask you guys if you think they will fit. i think they will, but im not that knowledgeable when it comes to rim/tire fitment, so any help is appreciated. so the rims are 16inch XXR 513 Wheels, im not sure of the exact offset but believe it to be likely +12 or 15, but may be 0. i will be using these rims with my widefender kit, so hopefully that helps give these enough room to work. i have attached pics of the kit as well as the rims i will be trading for to help get possible answers. thanks in advance guys!

here are the rims:

and here is the kit:
