i was browsing through the gallery (sweet ass cars by the way!), and i came across this... from what i can tell it looks like a 3g just like mine but with an 88' and up front end... hood, lights, fenders, bumper, now what i want to know is what does it take to get this done? or is this a straight bolt on swap? if anyone knows, any input would be great. i want to know whats involved, how much does it cost, any custom mods, well anything, i think it looks sweet. thats what mighty mouse looked like before i ruined the headlights... well anyways just curious...

Thats a mix front end...
88+ Hatch Fenders
with crx looks like head lights and front bumper.
imma guess you would have ot make mounting brackets. or change out the entire front support

A 24 pack of beer, sawzall , and a bad idea....?? LOL.. It may look good in pictures ,as do most front end conversions, but up close it is a different story.. You can try it, but unless you are a professional body man or have it professionally done, I would not attempt it.

More like a Keg, a sawzall, welder, lots of bondo and sandpaper.
You first probably would have to half each fender, rear half 3g front half 4g, then change the core support to allow the bumper reinforcment from the 4g to mount and line up correctly with the fenders. Modify the core support to fit the headlights and line up correctly with fenders and bumper. Then fit the hood so it lines up with everything.
Way way way to much time and money for something that doesnt look that good IMO.
Front end swaps never work on hondas. They usualy always involve mixing body styles and the lines never look right. Save yourself some time and money and pick up some JDM Headlights/Cornerlights and Hood and it will look 1000x better than that blue one. Or just buy a 4g.

That front end swap looks like crap. If you like that front end just buy a EF they are plenty cheap.

thanks for the replys everyone, i was just curious to see if it was even worth it. it looks like it would be cheaper to just go jdm (which im going to be looking for shortly). ill probably end up getting a 4th gen as a project, but not any time soon. looks like its better to leave that idea for the pics, im not going to get into another headache, its hard enough to find stuff for my car as is...lol. ah well....

not sure, but the 1G CRX and 1G integra share MANY MANY parts. So its possible its a mostly bolt on affair.
Im not sure though, the best way would be to talk to someone whos done it...

not honda related but this is my latest front end conversion. it's a 86 ranger (think bronco 2 front clip) with a 92 ranger front clip installed. almost a direct bolt on with the exception of the chopping/trimming of core support and bumper bracket drilling but it turned out perfectly straight and looks like a 92 ranger from the factory instead of a hackjob conversion now. now it's time that the front comes back off for the sake of throwing the 302 in and hacking the rear frame section for a "tub" with 18 inch wide street tires tucked under the bed. then it will be time for paint.

Taking a picture from a sideways angle does not constitute a front end conversion.

^ fairly straightforward conversion, like putting a 85 crx si front on a 87 crx si.. NOW try putting the 93-UP ranger front end on.

IIRC it involves breaking the spot welds where the core support meets the rest of the front in and welding the integra core support on. after that everything becomes a bolt on affair with the exception of the fenders. from what i remember you had to modify those to tie them in with the rest of the civic body. the details are a little fuzzy now, but it was something along those lines
