So I'm posting picture of my "New, Old POS" car. It's an 86 hatch with 145k.
I don't know what Eric wanted to do with this hunk, but about a year ago he told my friend to call us before he sold it... so... here I have it now. It was actually given to me. The engine seized up, so it's toast. I'll be pulling it out and putting in a different engine (Eric- what is it?) Of course, he's out of state for school, so here I am attempting to do it myself! I hope you guys can bare with me while I ask a ton of questions.
I intend to put no money into the car, at least not until I know it runs, and find out how much rust it may or may not have. Mainly, my focus it to make it run. I've helped Eric before with my car, but it's totally different now. Not only am I alone, but this is carborated, and my other hatch isn't! I looked at it when it was hauled in, and was thinking "Shit! WTF now?"
Anyway- some pictures:
My new dented front end...
It's straighter than I thought it was...
Both doors do this
Dirty dirty Dash!

Hope I got this in the right spot. My name is Kristi, and my fiance told me I should join.

I was just given an 86 hatchback that needs a lot of work. The came froze up on it, so it's not currently running. My friend is dropping it off on Friday. I'll be sure to post pictures (and start a project thread). I'll give more details in the project thread, but I'll start that when I get pictures. I intend to get shots of the entire process.
Of course the man is out of state for school, so this project will be totally up to me. I've got the general basics to get around a car and my engine, but I've never done a full or partial swap on my own, so I'm hoping you can bare with a young gal and help me out here.
My goal right now is to get it running. I'll pull dents and stuff later. It's mainly just becaues my friend gave it to me, so I'm going to learn to work on a pos car that doesn't matter if I screw up on... hopefully I won't screw up!
My daily driver is a 91 hatch. I love it. Run it up at the drag track sometimes, hope to do it more. It's pretty stock, but my first night I managed a 16.2. I was impressed.
