There is one thing I love about California's STRICT vehicle code enforcement.. That the JDM wannabe fanboy lemmings will not copy this with success in this state .. I have seen people trying to do this already with the stupid pipes on scion XB's. It is nonsense ..
I bet the Japanese guys made this trend as a joke and said "I bet those stupid round eye in USA try to copy this too. just like Drift, VIP,JDM, etc..etc.. " lol...
A: Drift is fun to play around with, just so long as you're not being stupid about it. I don't care who you are, or what you drive. It's great fun and takes skill to maintain a slide.
B: This topic comes up every now and then here. This is a very specific style of mod. They go out once a year to this huge meet and have fun. There's nothing else you can really do with those cars over there. It's either scrap it or have fun with it because insuring cars so old is prohibitively expensive in Japan.
Do you think we are seeing so many MR2s, Skylines, Silvias, and the like imported here because the Japanese got bored with them?
So that's what these guys do. They have fun messing with the car because it's never going to see daily use again. Then they insure it for a day and all get together in a huge meet. It's all about having fun.
Really, no different than 24 Hours of Lemons in concept.
These cars aren't meant to be taken seriously.(/rant)
