Hello guys. I devaced my car about a year ago and thought about leaving the EGR out of the equation. But after reading about the purpose of it and seeing Bubba's devac method where he incorporates the EGR I thought I might give it a try.

My problem is I'm using the ported vacuum port behind the carb just like he suggests, but somehow it is opening the valve (EGR) before reaching 2rpm, because rpms get stuck in that range.

If I step hard on pedal then it goes past that mark and revs fine. How do I know? Well If I disconnect and block the EGR then It would rev ok from 0 to past 2k without the limit.

Is there any other source that I could use which opens it up a bit later? Or maybe just limit the flow with a reducer? EGR is supposedly good for high rpm driving where some pollutants are generated (I forget which, NO, HC, CO?

but because it opens at so high RPM it will not affect performance in any way.

My devac method and carb mods were done following Darkhand's, Soobiewwrxst'si and Bubba's methods. BTW carb works great guys!

Any info will be appreciated.

Really, with so many devac threads and comments nobody has an idea or a hint?

At least there must be one of the well seasoned guys that have done carb mods?

Regards!!
