Well my old, but nice, 21" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro monitor just died. Good thing I have a crappy spare 17" monitor.

It made a nice pop, screen went out, smoke coming out the top and now my room smells like a burnt out starter motor.

Oh well!

I've had my eye on the Viewsonic VP930B anyway. I ordered one of these for an end user at work and they're very nice.

I have used Dell, Samsung, Sony, Viewsonic, and Realsync monitors. So far, the Samsung monitors tend to be my favorite. They tend to have better color representation, from what I have seen on their 700:1 monitors.

I have had the SAMSUNG 244t on my wish list. Pretty damn sexy.

MITSUBISHI DIAMOND PRO 2070SB-BK <-- Nice clean monitor, Worth looking into. I just went looking, and most of the monitors out now (I ignore LCD's completely) are pretty... cruddy, if not cruddy, hard to find! I'll stop there before I start ranting though tongue.gif

Actually the starter of the tread brought up CRTs first. I prefer CRTs though, they handle various resolutions much better than a LCD that needs to scale it to its native res or reduce the screen size to XxY pixels. There is one LCD I want though, 23" wide screen 1920x1200 native res. The height is only about .5 inch differance than my 21" CRT and would be perfect for duel monitors and HD video playback. I've seen some with VGA, DVI and component inputs, perfer for my D-Theater/HD-WMV setup in my computer room. Right now I use a żV-DIGI? to convert the D-Theater's component output to VGA so that I can view the 1920x1080 on my Philips.

Most likely use the same wire in their transformers as they use in their starters.

For the OP, if you haven't replaced it already, I have a nice 19" Samsung CRT monitor that you can have for $25, just come pick it up...

I have no idea what my car does on the 1/8th. And I probably don't want to know.
But I suspect the rust would improve the performance a bit.

Well the monitor was 9 years old... so I'm not really complaining.
