SIs takes boost well.
plus fill out you location so we know where you are ... and can advised you if you live inthe rust belt to check wheel wells floor pan pan hard mount and jack mounts for rust

If the turbo kit is done right and tuned properly, you can have years of trouble free boosting...

The Si (D15A3/EW4) motor has a not-so-staggering compression ratio of 8.7:1 stock, so yes, boost is easily achieveable and maintainable, so long as you keep it around 5-7psi.
That sounds like a good deal to me, the blue book mint value of an Si is $2K, no more, so that sounds about right for the price/location/condition/mileage. I think you could bargain it down a couple hundred dollars depending on the running condition, which should be good given the mileage.
So what are you waiting for, join the Si Hatch club!

I say haggle with the seller I wouldn't be supprised if you could bring it down to less than 1k. there isn't much demand for the 3G use that to your advantage. Use the money you save for your first mods.

I'd buy it... but not for $1700. Not a snowball's chance in hell would I pay that much. My '86 Si I paid $400 for. Granted, it needed the floors welded but that wasn't a problem for me. My '85 Si (yes, an '85 Civic Si) I paid $300 for. It needed a clutch, but had Tokico Illuminas at all four corners, a K&N, Yokohama AVSi's and was bought from the second owner. These cars have no resale, whatsoever. Get the guy down to $1000 and it wouldn't be a bad deal...
