In Topic: It Race Engine Secrets?

Send your engine to Blake. He's the Master. Mine's heading there in a couple months.

Definitely get the 4.93 FD. I have a Housemann 4.93 w/ 215/50-13 Kumhos and IMHO the gearing is perfect.

I know no other secrets. Except Blake. But I guess he's not too "secret" wink.gif

In Topic: What Good Is An Adjustable Rear Bar?

27.5 mm bars up front and 375# springs in the back.  3/4" adjustable bar in the back.

Lots of weight transfer to that right front wheel. You might want to go with 29mm front torsion bars and 450 - 600 lb rear springs. I have that and a 3/4 rear bar and it corners nice and flat. I've seen cars with 27mm t-bars at Roebling lift the inside right rear tire in T4, but I've been told mine stays planted well all the way around the course. Another advantage to firmer front bars is there is less weight transfer to the front under braking, allowing you to run a more aggressive compound brake shoe in the rear without as much lock-up.

great videos, so what happened at the end, ? did you get tapped , or just broke loose on the rear?

im headed for itb lateer this summer, cant wait!

no, no contact. Just too fast, wrong line, and cold rear tires.

You're gonna love this car in ITB. LOTS of fun!

Its kinda neat to have such a beat, but usable race car, just looking at the faded seat, and worn out momo wheel you get a great impression of a long racing history.

Seriously. That's the same way my car is. I know from it's first logbook it was built in '92 and raced pretty continuously from then til now, with a few mini-retirements. Now she's back. New looking, but an experienced old horse under the fresh paint.

I am concerned that the roll cage may be made of erw tubing, however... its no longer allowed in scca, I have hardly any documentation on the car other than the original RI bill of sale, and the logbook from 98-01.

As long as the car with its current cage was issued a logbook before ERW was disallowed, you're grandfathered in. The change to DOM only just affects new cages.
