Quick update....

Advanced the timing as far as I could by rotating the distributor. Helped a lot. Just small surging/missing now. Also check engine light no longer on. Disconnected the vacuum advance hoses, but tried them both ways, which is the correct way to route them? Also, how can I advance my timing more than just rotating the distributor? I think it could use so more.... Still going to check out my cat and make sure it's not clogged, probably by punching it out or going header next week... Please help!

sounds like you might have the timing belt off a couple of teeth....you should never need to move the distrib further than the groove will alow it to move.......did you have the head or block milled? if so you might need an adjustable cam gear to get everything back to 100% aligned....

there are 2 things to avoid doing to make the dif last longer
1 if you drop the clutch on a cold dif it could fail. drive the car around a little if you are ggoing to be at the track..just a couple laps around the pits will be enough to warm the dif up a little
2 when you do a burn out does just one wheel spin at a time? if it does this is something to try and avoid. when you spin one tire only the spider gears in the dif can actually get super hot and over time will cause them to fail....just my 2 cents...as i have seen difs fail for both of these reasons
