Ok dude stop what ever it is that you are doing, go out side, grab a 19mm wrench and a jack, take off your front tire and just stare for awile.

i think he realizes there are no coil springs up front.. he is probably asking if you can put them there.

my answer?:

technically yes, but not without extensive cost.
the top of the shock towers are not meant to bear the weight of the front of the car, like on typical macphereson struts. in order to have a safe vehicle with springs up front, you'd definitely have to reenforce the chassis at the top of the shock towers, and that can get costly.

by shifting the weight of the spring mass higher up on the chassis like that you would also be raising your center of gravity, and shifting weight forward (relative to the location of the torsion bars). 2 things you don't want are a higher cg, and an even MORE nose-heavy car than you have.

the stock suspension geometry works, and it works well. personally, with something that important, i would not doubt the honda engineers' decisions. they get paid a hell of a lot more money for what they do than any of us.

well i have a b16 swap in my crx and the stock suspension sucks. also my friend told me that he has seen an 87 crx with eibach prings all around.

There are 4 (maybe 5) 1G CRX's in North America that I personally know about or have seen that have a coil-over conversion on the front. All of them are full-blown race cars. Not to say that there aren't more, but I've not seen them. And I've never heard of anyone doing it on a street driven car.

yea it's a BAD idea for a street driven car.
fastazzrex, there are plenty of upgrade you can perform to the stock suspension without extensive modification to the chassi
upgraded torsion bars (up to 29mm) and adjustable struts (Koni, or ... tokico)
that should be plenty sufficient for a B16 swap

Dude just go to the junk yard and find a 1g teg front subframe, with torsion bars, pull it and stick it under your car. Much easier than trying to get the stock torsion bars out. That should help. Also go with the radias arms for more camber, brakes, sway bar, and while you're at it, power steering!
