For all of you who have lowered your fronts by loosening the two nuts on the torsion bar.. what do you do about the space it leaves between the torsion bar and the body? when i hit a pothole or speedbump now it makes a clunk, and i can only imagine its the torsion bar smacking the floor of the car and then comming back down to bang on the two nuts.. is there a way to get some washers on top of the torsion bars and then snug the nuts onto them?

i dont know if i explained this well enough but if you dont get it i'll try to draw a pic or something.

thanks,
Shane

when i lowered mine, the car rested, well, lower. i dont think there should be a gap there when you lower it. someone correct me if im wrong.. when i did this, i jacked the car up, loosened the nuts, put the car back down, shook it back and forth till everything settled, and that was it. are you sure you loosened the right nuts??

That clunk you are hearing is probably the result of old/worn suspension/sway bar bushings. Replacing the bushings in the front is pretty easy. The rear suspension bushings are... more involved.

i would check those also, but he said that there is a big space in between the torsion bar and the body...

I thought that there was ALWAYS a gap there but it just got a little larger when you loosened the nut. Are you sure that sound isn't your struts bottoming out? ohmy.gif Because that frequently happens when our cars are lowered.
