Thanks!
To all of youi who aren't SCCA members, Screech is referring to the Runoffs write-up in Sportscar magazine.
Here's a link to the online copy:
http://www.sportscar...car/201112#pg62

Pages 62 & 63.

I just completed an interview with Honda for the HPD website. It should be up in a few days. I'll post the link when it's up.
Kinda cool being the only Honda to win an National title....and doing it with an 'old school' car!

Edit: Here is a link to some photos from SCCA. They have them grouped by class (go to 'HP') and there is also a link to all of the winner's circle podium photos.
The H-prod pics start on page 19.

Somehow I am just now finding this thread mad.gif
Congrats Greg! but if you ever are within 2 minutes of my neighborhood (Pearland) and neglect to visit, I will... not be able to do anything about it... but seriously, lunch is on me if you're ever in my area again.

While I'm at it, congrats to James as well, good to see you're bringing some glory home for us Houston (area) enthusiasts. Sad to see you're selling your car but I hope you stick around rpr!
He who dies with the most toys, wins.

Just one Great performance Greg !!

Loved all the pictures, car looks great too.

Ref: "Kinda cool being the only Honda to win an National title....and doing it with an 'old school' car!"

Well maybe you could talk to Honda and tell them that there's still some legs left in these older cars and they should help the community out. How about them doing a run of all metal body parts for Civic and CRX!!!

Why am I just seeing this now?

Huge congrats man! I was watching all the videos, that's some good traction control.

In the Speedcast coverage a line made me laugh... "We have 9 cars on full wets, we have 5.5 on intermediate and 4.5 on slicks. The reason is there's one car with intermediates on the front and slicks on the rear. I don't know if I've ever seen that before." laugh.gif Still chuckling at that.

You go Greg!

*Edit* I'm also noticing they seem to think you're running full slicks while half way through they started wondering if Gagliardi is the .5 ... They need to get their facts right! XD

Yep the broadcasters kept getting the tires mixed up on all of us, but I was the '5.5' biggrin.gif
They were sorta right in that I was on grooved slicks and not 'real' intermediates up front.
FYI a 'real' intermediate is typically the same compound as a rain tire, but with about 50% fewer grooves.
A hand grooved slick made from a tire that is softer compound also works well, but Goodyear doesn't make a softer tire in my size (20x8x13)

Gagliardi (the black VW) was on grooved slicks on all four corners.

Grooved slicks are not much better than regular slicks on a damp track in that you still need heat to get the tires to work.
Without heat, a slick is useless. The only place I got any heat at all was the Carousel and that is because that part of the track drains really well and you spend a looooong time leaning on the tire, so that by the time you track out, it has some decent grip.
'Real' intermediates with a softer compound would have been the ideal choice for those conditions.
I really need to shop around in the off season and find two more rims wink.gif
