Hey guys, I know theres alot of stuff on here about devacing, but Its scattered all over and its hard to piece all of the information together.

I would like to know what I plug, what I leave un-plugged, and what lines do I run where? Thats it.
Thanks Guys!

Dude, your the man that I wanted to talk to ever since I started this project. I just got home from my garage, with my new motor hanging beside my REX, and I was about to llight the damn thing on fire because its a octopus mating fest on that damn motor, and you sir are my absolute hero of the day. I thank you a shitload for helping me out.. Can't wait till tomorrow to get cracking on this...

I made good progress today on the CRX though.. Put in a new Crankshaft Seal (Rear), new oil pan gasket, sanded and painted the pan, new throwout bearing, working on putting the tranny back on with the new Exedy clutch... Fixed the busted exhaust studs, the list goes on and on, but yeah its coming along real nice and what you posted will really help me out big time. Thanks man. -

I would have just swapped in a CDN carb but good job, glad that you figured it out.

Well I got the devac done... Well cept a few things.

On crxfanatic's intake manifold, he has 2 vacumm things blocked off with aluminum plates. Where can I get those?

Also, I have like 4 plastic petcocks in the back of the intake manifold, their different colors and have 2 outlets each... I just plugged them.... Is that good?

Theres a red fuel like coming out of the back of the carb, what do I do with that?

What do I do with the vacumm line coming off of the distributor?
What about the big line coming UP from the intake manifold by the valve cover?

Thanks guys, the cars almost done!

The red one you want to leave cause its your return line.

The one on the dizzy you can get rid of if you do the Dizzy advance.

chedda_j, did you ever have time to do that write-up on putting lighter springs in the dizzy for the advance mech?

No i didnt, i posted that in my sedan write up. Im gonna do it when i get my si head and new dizzy. They way i did it was increadibly easy. All i did was took off the cap, took off the vac advance E clip, pulled the mechanism out, turned the internals to full adnvance, and tack welded it open. I never even took the dizzy apart. It was quick and easy.

Ok so I need to keep the red line on the distributor. Good, thanks.

What about those plastic petcocks on the back of the manifold?
And what is the big beefy vacumm line on the manifold for?
What should I do with the aluminum plate things?

How did the butt dyno respond to that little mod chedda? I wanted to do this myself but was wondering of the difference in gains between tach welding the advance arm or puting lighter springs in. cool.gif

the plastic "petcocks" on the manifold are thermovalves, they open at set engine temperatures to supply vac to different things. The vac line on the manifold I am assuming you are talking about the brake booster line? You don't want to remove that.

Should I plug those petcocks?

Brake booster line... heh.. niiice.. damn junkyard cut it... Gotta get one of those from Honda.

Did crxfanatic custom fab his own aluminum block plates for covering the 2 openings on his intake manifold?

I made the plates. You can just leave the two pieces of crap that currently occupy the holes there and plug anyhitng on them.

The pipe coming from the exhaust manifold was cut near the manifold and folded/smashed shut as best I could. It's just aluminum, easy to manipulate.

I ran my dist vac line off one of the ports on front of carb.

As you can see in one of the pics, I left my "petcocks" unplugged.

I thought the red braided line off the back of the carb went to the charcoal canister, a fumes/vapor line. I believe I removed and plugged the port on the carb, cuz I have no charcoal canister anymore.
