My 87 Crx Si Project - Completed!
Rachang 17 Jun 2016
This post is updated on July 16, 2018 as AT&T Locker (where links to pics were stored) has been discontinued.
Just a few pictures of what I started with and the finished project car...the red Rex I started with from California was overall in great shape. I almost hated taking it apart to turn it into the black CRX Si from my youth. But the finished car easily squelches any of the concerns I had. This was a full rotisserie restoration with every part refinished or replaced with new, where possible. The entire drive train was cleaned and reconditioned with new seals, gaskets, and hoses.
Thanks to the RPR community as I have purchased parts from several of you and picked up ideas from many!
A few upgrades went into the restoration including:
- DC Sports 4-2-1 header, Magnaflow hi-flow cat, hi-flow cat back exhaust
- leather seats
- new struts up front and coilovers on rear wheels (edited on 7-16-18 from "coilovers on all four wheels")
- sound insulation throughout entire interior
The starting point and a few in process pics are here and a few pics of the finished project (as of June 13, 2016) are a few posts down in this thread:

Looks simply amazing in the pictures! Thanks for sharing it with us and hope you have many years of enjoyment from this reincarnation. Can't see the front suspension in any of the pictures...what do you mean by - coilovers on all four wheels ?

I am in Freeport, IL.
I had a typo on the coilovers...I put KYB struts in front and shocks in back with Ground Control coilover conversion kit (300 lb) in the rear.
