Hey all,
Long time lurker here on RPR - I recently picked up my first 3G civic, a well used but mostly complete and rust free 87 Si.
Shortly after picking that up, I found a 1G Teg with a blown motor and the Tein MP kit, adj. PHB and all the rest of the suspension goodies to use as a parts donor. I'll eventually re-build that engine to swap in, but for now I've just been getting the chassis, suspension and brakes sorted to use this car as my fun and economical daily driver.
You've all seen brake and suspension swaps before and I'm not doing anything unusual there... But I did want to share a little rainy day stereo project I completed from mostly old things I had in my stash of parts.
Head unit delete - with just a line in 3.5mm plug, power switch and volume knob connected to two small amps mounted in the dash where the guts of the original head unit would be located. I grabbed an OEM plug from the pick-a-part to replace the missing female dash harness plug, and now its all plug-and-play, with no permanent mods. The input level adjusters on the amps are accessible when the glove box is open to allow for setting up the relative F/R fade for the speakers.
ps - if anyone has any tips on posting pictures here please share. none of the buttons up top work, and I also cant paste or drag/drop anything into the body of this message !?!?
