Lesson learned! I'm going to pull it out here in a week or two. Its fast now,i can't imagine it with a new engine and dyno tune.

Sorry about the engine problems. Have you determined a root cause for the poor leakdown results? I was thinking when I saw post #271 that steel wool in your PCV system could be a culprit. That stuff shouldn't be used for that. It's dirty stuff to start with and then pieces can break off and get back into your intake... If I'm reading your routing description right. Why'd you use steel wool in your catch can?

A minutes noise, from the M8D.

These were without a doubt my absolute favorite cars from that era...and I never got the opportunity to see them run anywhere. sad.gif

I agree. The McLarens were my favorites too, along with the Honda GP cars, but the GP Honda's were ugly ducklings compared to the McLaren GP cars.

We're lucky to have a McLaren collection right here in Arvada, Colorado; the Mathews collection. Here's a link: Mathew's Collection

Unfortunately not open to the public and now very hard to get into at all anymore. A few years ago Mr. Mathews told me that some woman that was part of a large tour group discreetly keyed a few cars as she walking around at the back of the group. They caught her on video after the fact. Crazy bitch.... mad.gif

In Topic: Anyone Know This Nut Size?....

i need the nut that secures the top of the shock....i am running tokico blues.

upon removing the nuts that have been on there for who knows how long; i have damaged the nuts beyond re-usage...in which i am wanting to replace them as well as purchase a die (from a tool vendor near my place of employment in canoga park) to recut the threads on the upper part of the shock.

i would take the shock into the tool vendor, but the car is not with me.

so if anyone could tell me how or where to find the nut size for a koni blue shock, i would be greatly appreciative.

thanks in advance.
i will check back first thing in the morning before i clock in so i may (hopefully) be able to call in the die size needed....as well as call in for two nylon nuts.

My front blues are 12mm x 1.25
