Yes, that's right, the RPR Civic is coming out of hibernation. After a few years *cough* in stasis, the RPR Civic is being rebuilt to compete in Chump Car, hopefully this year, definitely next year, but we need your help!

First off, we need a set of 86-87 stock Civic headlights (with the metal 'cage'), preferably close to Ontario as they would be a bitch to ship.

Secondly, if you know anything about Chump Car, you know that the cars AIV has to be $500 or less. What is AIV you ask? It is the Average Internet Value of the same or similar cars in various parts of North America, as posted on Craigslist. All of the 86-87 Civic's I have found are all valued much higher than that, so if you can spare a few minutes and do a local search for an 86/87 Civic hatchback, and you find one that is in running condition (doesn't have to be perfect, just running and drivable) and is around $500, please post the link here, and if possible a screenshot in case the ad goes away, that would be very helpful!

As for progress, the car has most of the suspension installed (still need to get a panhard bar on), the turbo stuff has been removed (will be for sale soon!), we just need to figure out why there is no spark. The major task will be finishing the cage off and getting some tires. Then, we race!

So far it's myself, Darren and Andy. We may be looking for a fourth, depending on the situation. They have events at SMP, Calabogie and Grand Bend, so far. We are trying to get to Grand Bend for mid September this year, otherwise next year.

Hahaha! I'll print them out for my AIV too.

About time you posted this on here. I have a set of Civic headlights with full metal cages here in North Idaho.

Under steer is when you hit the wall with your front end.
Over steer is when you hit the wall with your rear end.
Horsepower is how hard you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you move the wall.

After a couple of hours work (rewire MSD ignition, change the water pump and timing belt, flush the rad/water jacket), it's alive!

Why change the water pump? Well....

Well that driving crew goes without saying! :)

I didn't know Grand Bend had a road course.

I'm only half serious about co-driving........but if you need to find a 4th keep me in mind. But I'm going to help Jay at the Runoffs in mid sept so I might not be around.

It's good to see you getting back out on track..........I've got a lapping day at DDT on Sept 9th.....maybe you could come and shake the car down??

The master returns! YES this web site is about to become legend... wait for it...

Side note, I have nothing useful to contribute to this trend.

Although Tom said Fuel pump, he meant water pump.

Thanks for the AIV contributions fellas, we need lots more! And like Gustav said, he can use them too. It would be nice to have a nice collection of them here for all the 1G/3G Chump car racers on the board.

It's fun working on the old 3G again. I've been playing with my Porsche 944 and Lexus IS300 lately, it sure is nice to get back to my Honda roots!

Any updates on the car?

I'm gearing up to race in the 36hr Spokane race.
