I have seen an H22 prelude engine in a 79 civic so a K20 should go in with a bit of work and money.

There's at least one guy working on fitting a K20 into a CRX, haven't heard much about it in a while though. A few searches should pull up his threads about it. Lots of pictures.

I spoke recently with Brian Gillespie of Hasport about this. He is planning on doing the swap this summer time permitting. The swap is definately possible, the K series motors are not any larger than b series and are more compact.
The only problem is that without an off the shelf mount kit, you would have to fabricate everything yourself, and as mentioned above, you would almost certainly need a custom header too.
I think it would be an awesome swap, I have been thinking about it for the longest time, but the money and work required are just a little bit too much for me at this point.
If you've got the fab skills though, and you want to spend the time I say go for it.

well, i am going to buy the swap anyway, even if i dont use it, i will make some $$$ off of it, i already have a half-complete turboed hydra i am working on, and ill bet that k20 is a hell of a lot heavier than that.
typically, k swaps sell for $4500 - $5500 , i am paying $2000,
so its just too tempting to pass up.

I just happened to look at the June issue of MiniWorld which is a mag about Austin Minis. They did a K series swap into one. Looks tight but fit. In those cars they usually stretch the front about 4 inches so they don't have to cut out the bulkhead for the VTEC swaps. In this one there was some cuuting of the bulkhead. Article didn't show alot of how they did it pictures. My only comment is if they can put them into a Mini there should be tons of room in a CRX. I'm putting a D16A1 into my Mini and I may have to manipulate things to make the IM fit. There is only 1/2" space under the front slope of the fender for the engine to fit but it does. Have a go at it, it should be a nice fit. JS
