ok, Look I'm a newb. I know I'm a newb.
But somethin here just don't make sense...
Do most of the guys buying these use their 1g/3g for the street?
I would think not.
I bought my car b/c it was an affordable Honda not a Porsche! tongue.gif
These shocks MUST be killer for the track but, those looking for
a drop for "looks"... $400. a piece is insane. dry.gif
Damn, I'd still buy'em if I could though! tongue.gif

My plan is to find the balance between $$$, performance, and "looks".
$<1st
Perf.<2nd
"looks"<LAST. wink.gif

criticalmass, big orange, zackspeed..that's four in total now.

That makes five - Tom joined in...

My contact at KONI is away at a tradeshow for this entire week and will not be back in the office until the first of next week. I will contact him then to make the arrangements, but I would assume we are not going to need the $$$ for a few weeks or better...maybe a deposit for the work would be asked for - I'll let you know.

Kirk

OK, so we topped out at five sets of fronts?

I guess so. Did you try on Improved Touring, and maybe NASA? I wonder if any of the g1teg guys would be in on some...

I would also be in on a set of fronts. Sooner the better. As long as I could get them valved to my needs, im 100%.

Here's the latest...

The lead time on the shocks is mid-January delivery...that is assuming that I place the order for all seven sets of the front shocks today. They will not split the order, I have to sign up as a limited dealer and purchase them outright to get this pricing - $403.85 US each for the fronts. If they keep the shocks and sell them indivually, the cost will be $541.00 US each...you can do the math...the shock top is setup to be used with a 5/8ths ID spherical bearing.

For rears, they are never going to make the same shock that was made in the past again. They are willing to make us a shock from the 3012 series line - it is a mono-tube double adjustable shock also and is going to be $375 US each...singles would be $450 US. I was not told how many sets of rears I would need to buy to get this pricing, but I will ask if there is sufficient interest.

There is no commitment from KONI Holland to do another run of the front shocks on the plate right now.

so with 6 of us committed vs. 7, what's your plan?

I'm still in 100% on a pair of fronts.

Let me know what you need from me.

thanks,
Kenn W.

errr. this is my problem, Im not exactly sure. I just want them to match up to the torsion bars that I will be running. but im not exactly sure which torsion bars I will be using. Im sure you could probly help to decide what I need. This will be a full time race car. Im thinking 27 or 29 mm bars.

Yes, the rears are worth it, as are the fronts. If you're serious about getting your car working to it's maximum potential (which I'm pretty sure you are) this is probably one of the best investments you can make.

I bought mine early in '03. Never thought I'd ever pay that kind of money for shocks. But, as they say; If you wanna play................ wink.gif

I just wish I'd had the rears shortened when I ordered them.

The valving adjustment range is more than wide enough for 27mm to 29mm torsion bars.

I am not sure what to do about the last set of front shocks...I really don't want to buy them and have them sitting on my shelf at home...I think I will try the SCCA Production website...

I'll say I'm for the rears then too. If anyone tells my wife, you can kiss this site goodbye, cause I'll be in a shallow grave somewhere....
