I pulled a ev1 valve cover at the yard one day...it had 8 valves and 4 little cvcc valves...its possible you have 1.3 cvcc in canada...
Jeepgirl if you can take a look into your oil fill cap...if theres a small spring there you have cvcc if not the exaust valve will slightly to the left of the oil hole.
you dont have to pull the valve cover to see this valve. It will be directly under the oil cap hole.
little rod around which is a little spring, laying horizontaly right under the oilcap?
yes i have cvcc, so does my parts car. i'm sure of it. i havent gone out to look just yet, but from memory, yes.
as soon as i bug my hubby enough to motivate him to do a valve adjustment (did honda make a diesel? mine sounds like one) i'll know for sure.
*EDIT*
well i went out and looked at the parts car(it has no cover) and it doesnt look like it has cvcc, i popped the filler cap on the Honali and took a peek and with what little light i had i couldnt see what you were describing. all i saw was the valve asmbly and valves (no i didnt count them as i had a gas company contractor bothering me about moving my meter, came right into my garage!!!! "Miss? excuse me Miss, are you able to make an appointment to have your meter changed? blah blah blah...")
so yeah, no cvcc.... kewl beans!!!!
the only spring i saw was attached horizontally across the tops of both valve assemblies. i'm gathering that those are the valve return springs?
