I guess I should keep this page up to date as well. I can't just post it all on the build thread and facebook lol!
I kind of got away from what I designed yesterday in a sense. I was thinking I needed something stronger than just 1" tubing, so I scrapped the top bar and replaced it with a 1.75" piece of tubing that ties directly into the frame rails.
I started off cutting and bending 1/8" flat steel to conform to the bodies original bumper mount. Then I bent the 1.75" x .093" wall bash tube. I tacked it in place and moved onto the supports. The bar was positioned at the at the original height to keep the bumper in proper alignment. The supports were cut at 45 degrees and tied into the same mount, then welded in place. A little finishing weld was performed off of the car.
Once that was completed, I added the mounting bar, originally a 1/16" thick piece of stamped sheet metal, now a 1" x .065" piece of DOM. I tied the two bars together using 45's. Next will be to add the diagonal runners to the rad support, then the outer bumper mounts, and battery box.
