If anyone needs a PM6 or PR4 ECU to run TurboEdit on...I always have a few chipped ready-2-go ECUs laying around. They come with a basemap chip and ZIF socket and datalogging 4 pin header.

email me: [email protected]

I also can sell you a TurboEdit chipping kit if you are the DIY kind of guy/girl.

If you guys ever have questions about TE feel free to email me or find me over at www.homemadeturbo.com

Glad to see the word getting around biggrin.gif

SO, If one was planing to turbo a BrownTOP d16a1 with VAC advance, then turbo edit or a hack would be a better choice.

sorry for the NOOb question.

i guess the hack would be the best for you... considering that the ecu for a vacume advance motor can't control the spark timing. so the hack should work.

however if you want more tunability then convert to a electronic advance and chip the ecu for turbo edit.

no

unless you have a boost controller no...

you need something to restrict the boost pressure to the waste gate for that....

i think you need to read up abit more.

so I read on HMT that the map sensor can only read up to 12ish pounds of boost in the IM... is this a problem for turbo edit if you wished to run more than 12 pounds?

No, its not a problem. simply use a 3bar map sensor. tongue.gif

Theres some pretty serious home-grown-chipping info. Pretty detailed too.

Course, its from the 'domestics' category, so the ECU serial numbers dont mean jack and the chips look a touch different, but its still a good read.
