I am so glad that you are rebuilding. Your build is one of the reasons that I have my 3rd gen all pulled apart getting ready for paint and a swap. Thanks for the inspiration for my build and good luck with the new one.

so jay has been working on the new chassis.this thing is in real nice shape.the pass 1/4,rooof and left rear floor is really the only body work.
the rail needed to be pulled.the surface rust is from the cracked paint. im going to hit all these area with the sandblaster.
the trunk floor where it was hit.again more surface rust will be blasted
the dent i made with a BFH for the B series alt.
for some reason i cant find where the sunroff drains end up.anyone have a pic of theirs?i coulda swore they cam out the bottom of the a pillar.
jay workin the 1/4 out
so ill have it back at my house for the meet.body work should be done and primed

damn good work, maybe I should bring my car for you two to labor on... I'll pay in witty banter, Philippino slaves, or magazine subscriptions.

That is odd, it would be clearly visible in the pic. Is it dumping on the floor? Any signs that a none Si panel was used to fix a previous wreck or something?
If fact this pic of your first build has the drain visible so you can see where it should be.

Did they VIN it as an AH5? And where does it drain then?!? If that is really an 86 Si that came from the factory without the Si panels you have a rarity there (and you just went bashing up the frame rail, ), what is the production number on it?
Just pour some water into the gutter and see where you get puddle and work backwards from there to the tubes...

All jdm cars are like that they dont dump out of the body the tubes just "end" at the bottom of the A pillar and the water makes its way out on its own.

Lil_buddy, mind sharing the serial of the VIN to show how early. I'm know one of my has the A-pillar exits, need to still check the other one now. My oldest is 2445x and the newest is 3119x. I can't remember which VIN is to which car though.

That is a low one. Really, this is the first time I've aware of a Honda that I'm interested in having a mid-year production change.

the other diff i noticed right away is the front bulkhead.the tow hooks are the same as the 84-85.they are actually an intregal part of the lower rad. support. the later 86 and all 87 3Gs use plates that bolt to the outter section of the lower rad. support.

Only interesting thing I ever found on (in) one of my cars was my Lincoln. The workers left trashing the car: excess stick of lead from filling the body seam, some excess rubber vacuum hose used for the power locks.
My Hondas have always been rather normal. Looks like you won a lottery in a way to a unique one like that.
Rear exits as normal? Does it by chance have the nuts welded in to support the USDM recessed lights (the outter upper)?
