ohmy.gif if you paint the surface area of the tire with yellow paint, would it leave yellow burnout marks? huh.gif

seriously though, is this stuff just a paint that sticks to the surface and will eventually rub off or does the color bleed into the rubber?
When I die, i want to go asleep peaceful.......... not screaming and freaking out like everyone else in the car

There was a 90's Corvette on NOPI TV last night that was doing red and blue burn outs. When she pulled the Vette up, it looked like red was all over the wheel before the burnout, so you may be right.

The rustoleum is just the regular quart sized can from Home Depot, called Sunburst Yellow. I mixed it 4:1 with acetone to get it thinned down enough to spray.

I got curious and put the wheels on the car, and took some pics. The sun was going down, so they didn't turn out too good, but I decided to post some anyway:

What kind of prep work did you do to get the suface ready for paint?

I sanded it with 220grit. This was my first paint job, so it doesn't look too good closeup. I put the first coat of paint on too thick. Next time, I will do a thin coat of yellow, and then clearcoat, instead of a few coats of yellow. It took a good bit of yellow, as the car was black before.

I doubt it, but I know my scorchers do, and they would match BrainGT's car!!

I forget what company makes them but someone does make tires just for the colored smoke during burnouts.
