i ate it. *buurp* sorry
I race SCCA autocross and would like to add a side exit exhaust. According to Kakabox, Scott and other entries a side exit can be made to come in below 90db, I think SCCA requires below 93 db for noise levels. Before I embark in this effort I want to be sure I will end up with a legal exhaust. My car had an old Magnaflow catback system on it that was rusted out. The cat is the original stock unit and looks clean to me on the inside. I put on a 2.25-inch cat back with a dynomax single in dual out muffler in the stock arrangement with a stock resonator included (non-mandrel bends since no one in my town seems to have that technology). But I noticed a decrease in power from my stock engine. I have a Lightspeed header too. I want to put a Magnaflow muffler and side exit on my car using 2.25-inch tubing mandrel bent like Kakabox used. But I think it was a little loud after reading the description. Kaka- how does the Powerstick work for power and sound? ALso some people note a 2-inch exhaust may lower the sound. Do I need a resonator too? Any other muffler recommendations out there? Good racing mufflers run about $200-$300, I may have to go that route to get a good system.
Thanks.
