hi guys, back to car action so......
the engine swap was done past month, took ~ 2 weeks to be completed.
It was not a straight bolt on, needed a lot of work, custom parts mainly for the mounts.
Here are some pics of the progress & the custom mounts.
This is how it stands, much better than that I had expected with all these custom mounts
Next step, the engine gone out to have the mounts fixed , painted. The axles where also modded to suit at the length , as much as for the shiftlinkage.
Also, I had bought the Energy Suspension kit, but half of the parts where putted for now. Rest parts later.
The condition of the engine is very good, no smokes, no problems from the first start.
My first impression when I drove the car, was like WTF? Difference is like Day and Night. No need to shift down to get a pass on the roads.
Some of the first parts I done to the engine, except of the full service, was the Vision performance spark plugs wires and the air intake kit. Also, I'm running with a obd0 pw crx vtec ecu. Seems to run better that the stock ecu, but i will have it chipped soon.
Little things left to do is to make a mod at the engine mount or damper, so I can remove the slightly bounce and attach into the chassis.
As for the mods, rather that the ecu programm, a fuel pressure regulator will be installed soon and the air intake will be modded for a better breathing. Wanted to bolt a 4-2-1 header but it's a whole process to put it , as the engine is a lot closer to the front panel. Will see....
