I have crushed in a rusted jackpoint on an e30 before, it sucked. My rex has minimal rust but still nervous about it happening. Probably won't. Also I'm not using the scissor lift when I get under the car, I'm not stupid.

Yup you east coast guys have it rough. Thats a structure part of the car that was built-in to take years of abuse from jacks/lifts and the weight of lifting and lowering. So if its damaged or rotted then you mite want t start looking for a new car. I wouldnt trust my life in car thats not safe when these only cost $1000 avg around here anyways. On top of that these cars dont have enough crash protection as it is, you mite be putting yourself in a very dangerous spot ignoring something like that. jmo
