i kno i sound stupid, but what exactly do when they port and polish ur engine?
The intake and exhaust ports of the head are opened up and literally polished to allow a greater volume of air and fuel to enter and exit the head.
Power is made in the head.

ok sweet. is this something u do on new engines or it doesnt matter. like if i bought a brand new car would i do this for better performance. it doesnt seem like. im just asking cuz i hear ppl say it after they buy an engine even if it is in ok condition.
In general, you do this to any engine to increase HP. By "you," I mean
you take the car or head to a professional unless you know what you're doing. Not all engines will benefit from P&P. For example, I heard the F22 in the S2000 doesn't because it's pretty much already done from the factory, but your D15A3 will benefit, for sure.
I have a friend has done this for many years. He used a flowbench to know how much material to take off and when to stop taking off material. I think if you do this at home and just port until you think it looks nice, you could get less performance or even engine troubles for your efforts.
