Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

AWESOME!!! a b powered 1g rex in texas, damnit though id be the first. lol. ya when you step up the power slicks are a must unless you can control the throttle reall good. my friends got a 40th anniversary grand prix gtp with full exhaust, intake, upgraded computer, and a smaller pulley. we took it to the 1/4 track and we were running 16.8........after letting me run it a few times i got it down to a 14.6 but still was havi ng traction issues. the key is just get off the line. once your off the line and moving with no wheel spin hammer it. thats what worked for us on street tires.
hehe and since someone mentioned 60ft times my 96 grand am on nitrous has a 1.9 60 footer!!!!!

QUOTE (b16cRex @ Sep 4 2006, 08:57 AM)
well ive been doing some research for most of the weekend and i think im going to go with the M/T slicks size 20.0/8.0-14 from what i understand they will help the gearing in my tranny compared to the 24.5/8.0-14 and with the smaller tires i guess i dont need to run a tube... im going to call mickey thompson to be sure of everything before i order

What tranny are you using? You will top out at about 107mph with the 20's if you are using a B16 trans at 8300-8500rpm.
With your power I would go to at least the 22x8x15.

Drag radials I can only get 14.2s out of my car with 2.0sec 60fts.
Slicks I can get 13.5s and 1.8sec. 60fts.
I run the 14 MT slicks on lightweight miata wheels. set to 10psi and drop the clutch at 7500rpm and your off like a bat out of hell.

whats done to your car to run a 14.2 on drag radials, cause i got a 14.4 on street tires slipping in to 3rd gear
i could also probibly use a LSD but i dont have the money for both right now and im not sure if they make it for my tranny

If you are running 14s, i would think a 22-23in slick would be good for the amount of power
But slicks > Drag radials.....DRs are nice to play around on the street though

I have a LSD which helps a lot. I have I/H/E cams, TB, Spirngs, retainers, Adj. cam gears, custom ecu and I ran that on Nitto 555Rs.

BFG drag radials are sweet!! wayy sticky and are comparable to 20" slicks.. I ran a 12.2 with BFG drag radials in my turbo laser I was running 13.2-13.3 on street tires but traps were HIGH, ran BFG and I ran 12.2@117 best time..
BFG drag radials have a treadwear of 0
nitto has a treadwear rating of 100
obviously the bfg drag radials are stickier compound
BUT without motor mount inserts or a traction bar/lsd you will definately break axles on BFG's (stock ones)

Thats the same thing I have and they hold up just fine to my 7800 rpm launches.
