why cant they make them look sorta like the 3g. sorta base its style around our cars. haha if they did i bet it would look funny.

Looks too much like a Mercedes "SMART" car. There has not been a good looking Civic since the 3rd gen came out. Just one mans opinion of course

That would be funny if they designed it after the 3g...but they would be following Ford with their retro thunderbird, and retro mustang. And it most def would just end up looking ugly.

i agree with the mazda-esqe remarks. itz okay i suppose...i like the front alot, because i'm a fan of the acura tsx, but...the butt is weird...too bubbly, but than again kinda reminds me of the first civic's rear, very rounded....

to me it looks like an RSX mixed with a ford focus... and not in a good way. i'll have to see it in person to be sure, but so far, i'm not impressed.

Honda design has gone WAAAAAY downhill since Soichiro Honda passed away in 1991.

The artist drawing looks sweet.
The actual car... the front looks OK, btu the side and rear look like ass!
I like the back on the drawing better, where the rear glass and trunk meet and dent in slightly, as opposed to the real car where its just all round like a hatchback. The tail lights look retarded... hopefully they are just partially masked to help disguise the car...

whats up w/ the huge ass on the '06 civic? Hondas having some probs good engines and all w/ the kseries but damn body design is bad and the curb weight keeps increasing

w/that huge ass on the civic I feel it needs a big N-1 dune buggy style exhaust

I think it wil end up looking like the artist sketch. The car they're testing there could very well be the hatchback, while the artist drawing is supposed to be the coupe Si. And yes, the tails would be masked to hide them, so would hte headlights, and most other body changes. Think C6. Remember how it's spy shots were? Very masked. Looked almost nothing like the car that was finally released.

And if the coupe Si ends up looking like that, one WILL be in my driveway.

Oh, by the way. The article says there's going to be a USDM Type-R model. Who wants to bet the CRX will be making it's return as predicted?

Keep in mind this is the 5-door model and probly only be sold in Europe

A hatchback is a type of automobile design, consisting of a passenger cabin which includes an integrated cargo space, accessed from behind by a hatch or flip-up window. Hatchbacks are also often called 3-door (two entry doors and the hatch) or 5-door (four entry doors and the hatch) cars.

The rear doors have the handle integrated into the pillar. It also has a hatch on the back. Therfore it is a 5-door. Honda doesnt sell any of its other numerous 5-door cars in the USA so this is more likely an EDM model.

I absolutely abhor 90% of new cars.
Is it just me, or do alot of new Japanese cars look like a mix of part hatch, part sedan, and part mini-van!??
I mean look at the new Si hatch...it's a friggin minivan!!
Can't some car company save us?
I know Dodge gave the public the SRT-4, and Suburu, the WRX STi...
What about Suzuki??? <-----you ever see some of their over sea's cars?!
or even Hyundai.. no seriously we are not gonna get it from our "big 3"

The current generation is a bit blah (no one likes it either), to much like a minivan. This new one will atleast add some flair and get your attention. They need to stir things up!
