pulled the motor tonight, no major problems, my hoist works great.
can you see it?
how about now?
i have an i-beam and a chain hoist that i simply set across the opening to my attic,
works great, especially in my little 2-car garage, when i am done using it, i just pull it up and its out of sight, out of mind.
looks much better without that carbed junk in there.
thats it for today, next i need to pressure wash the car, and sort through all this crap i pulled off. look for a fs thread this weekend, quite a few good parts, i hate to throw anything useful away.

well,
this weekend i managed to finish stripping out all of the engine bay, degrease and pressure wash the thing, and i stole the FI fuel filter brackets and bits and welded them on, you can see the missing paint and surface rust below where the booster mounts, looks like its been leaking awhile, no holes, just surface rust..
this weekend i will sandblast the front end and maybe get the engine bay painted.

i have done some more work, i have obtained my block and crank, b18b1
and i beadblasted and cleaned up the engine bay and hatch area, primered.
and i have now started to install body panels, those quaretrpanel skins are a real chore to fit on, but i have managed., my guess is that houseman uses more material than the original parts, not a bad thing, but you have to do a lot of sanding and trimming to get them on.
i have picked my color, a very dark gunmetal, nearly black in the shade, almost silver in the sun., should be hot.
i will need to buy engine bottom end parts soon, and get started putting that together, and try to get the rest of that mugen goodness on there
