GOOD GOD!!  I have you all SO beat!!

Car is appraised at $17,500.00 Canadian and I have probable spent closer to $20K on it to get it to where it is now.

I was looking through some stuff yesterday and found the reciept for the wheels!  $1600 for the wheels and then an additional $800 for the tires, that's $2400 on rollers alone!!  That's all Canadian dollars.

Rob

im curious as to what Bryman's spent....

and Retro, the money shows, that 1g is badass!! I think i have more pictures of it from N10 than any other car.

spent 200 on a crx HF with front end damage and has a DX motor in it. sombody spray painted the outside flat black and made a mess of it but it did come with an Si parts car that had everything. So now im going to take the black one to where i work and have the from pulled. That should be about 200 or so.

so i will probably have about 400 into it until i start adding things

oh yeah, i bought 2 10inch kicker subs for it for 75 dollars. so make that 475

I bought the car for $6,700 but it was in 1989 and the car was only 1 1/2 years old. I,ve spent 4-5k on it over the years and try to keep everything in as close to perfect working order as possable.
I have no plans on ever getting rid of it so i guess the improovments will keep coming and who knows how much that will run in to.

About $4k, total. That was for my slightly-halfassed '87 Si (D16A1, 9.5" brakes, rear sway/springs/tbars, Azenis on stock wheels, and lots of restored interior stuff), which I stuffed into a wall, and then the move to the DX, which changed in that I did sidedrafts on the D16, and generally turned it into a bit of a track whore (along with using the R-compounds and Illuminas that came with the car). Now that I'm getting out of the 1G game, I might be able to get about half that back, mostly because of some great deals I got on stuff along the way.

I'm probably close to 10k into it, but I know that Bryman and GTpilot are sure to have way more into theirs.

Yes, but if you add a value for the stuff you 'had in the garage', you could add at least $500 to that total... tongue.gif

For the CRX, $1000 for the car itself from ebay, $350 for shipping from Ohio to Chicago. Maybe $200 in tools and little things, and $10 for a junkyard master cylinder. smile.gif

It runs now, but after nearly 2 years already, I still haven't registered it or had it on the street. mad.gif Need about $400 for registration (including my personalized lisence plate that I stubbornly refuse to register the car without: 'OMG WTF' smile.gif ), and I still don't feel comfortable driving it around with the rust in the passenger floorboard... It's the only real rust anywhere on the car; I don't want it to get any worse. tongue.gif

Hmmm, lets see. I bought the car new 20 years ago for $8620.00. Before I spent the money to build the new CSP motor I was at around 27K..........I am now close to 30K! Whew!!! Good thing I have spread it out over 20 years! Oh yeah, that does include the purchase price, but still. blink.gif All for the fun of it and a miserable $5.00 pressed-board trophy. I must be insane.

I am close to $6000 with some nice parts for a new motor (P&P head, lightened flwheel, clutch), more to spend. My wife is fit to be tied, oh well its cheaper than a new EVO VIII. Its not investment but an expensive hobby and fun transportation.
