tjbizzo great write up as I could not have said it better myself!!!!

On a side note as you said it would be neglagable up to about 250 hp wich in toms case it would make since to use that type of ic becouse you get more open air to the ic as aposed to part of it being blocked. So yes there is a presure drop but you gain more air throgh the ic and it should be good for a couple of degrees in temp drop but like you said if exceeding the 200 mark it would bite you in the ass.
