I am the very happy owner of some orginal Lightspeed Racing products (Panhard bar, rear sway bar and torsion bars) and I value them as being the very best quality stuff made for our old cars.

The products most sought after by the 1st Gen CRX/Integra/3rd Gen Civic community in no particular order are:

Adjustable panahard bar
~25mm torsion bars
Rear coilover kit
Exhaust Header
Carbon Fiber hood/rear hatch
Cold Air Intake
Sway Bars
Oversized Throttlebody
Improved flow intake manifold/plenum
Lightweight sunroof replacement/plug
Short shifter
LSD
Camber/caster plates
Strut tower braces

I am sure there are other items that will be suggested as well.

Scott

I think Scott pretty much hit the nail on the head. As a newbie to the 1G CRX scene (I got my car about 2 weeks ago), I have been scouring the 'net and local stores trying to find a lot of these items, with little luck. The things I have purchased so far:
struts and rear coilovers (used from an RPR member)
strut tower brace (mrdisibility)
wheels/tires (craigslist.com)
seats (ebay)
carpet kit (I forget)
edead (ebay)
rear sway bar (Summitracing.com)

things I would LIKE to buy..
short throw shifter
CAI
thicker torsion bars
throttle body
header

As long as the prices are reasonable... I understand that it would not be feasible to make quality products dirt cheap.. but as long as they are reasonably priced, I think you'd sell them.

I may be in a different demographic than some of the other members here.. I am an older guy (36), and instead of spending 300+ bucks a month on a new car payment, I'd rather have a fun little car that handles well, that requires no payment, so I can put the majority of my 'car money' into my muscle car in the garage. To me, the CRX is a fun little project car that I don't mind dumping a couple grand into, because I got it for free, and my wife drives the brand new (269 hp) Toyota Rav4.. so if we need to go somewhere, we take her car.. .I use the CRX for commuting to work, and having some fun in...

So far, I've got about 1200 bucks into it.

My 3G used to be equipped with a variety of Lightsped parts back in the day. I had front and rear sways, torsion bars and a panhard bar, all of which were top quality pieces. I would most likely be interested in a front and/or rear upper tie bar if possible.

Try the http://www.g1teg.org/phpbb/ site for the 1G Integra as well. A lot of the parts are interchangeable between the Teg and CRX/Civic. JS

If you want one of these Logos send me a PM

laugh.gif no most of the guys on rpr are over like 30. being under like 25 is kinda being a minority. it's crazy cuz you go to other honda sites and then you'd be in a different demographic.

Well I only know a bit of the story but the owner of lightspeed got screwed over hard core by his business partners and now is not trusting any one thats why its so hard for us to get it rollin again. That and every one involved in the process has now recked their rex. A string of bad luck.

i'm trying to get plans in motion.

the only set back is my work schedule, taking up 95% of my time.

"jerfguy" hit the nail on the head as to why lightspeed went out of business. In the whole dilemma my role was aprox. a 5% in the demise of lightspeed racing.
Except now i am back in contact with the owner with real intentions, and now years later, I have credentials (thanks to HAAS Factory Outlet and N.T.M.A.) and fortunately i believe i have the support of the majority of RPR members.

for example, when i worked at lightspeed racing when they were located in glendale california, there was NO CNC MACHINES AT ALL. One conventional mill, One conventional lathe, Two Mandrell benders and the other toold/machinery used are irrevelant.

So now I am approaching the owner with the use of CNC Machinery, as I have the credentials, to set up, run and program..

I'll give you all an update tomorrow evening after work.

I would buy all of the above minus the Hatch because I love my spoiler that is on it right now.

unfortunately there was no contact today. I did leave a message and will be placing the call again tomorrow.

I have come to remember that the torsion bars sold by lightspeed are actually made right here in Burbank California, at a place i drove to today to see if they are still there.

not sure if or how i could cross reference the lightspeed product number to the actual vedor part number. . . . .

will be working on that right quickly!
