So im still debating on what engine to put on my completly drag only Rex..

my choices are:

B16: The benefits of this swap is that most of the necessary things are out there for sale like mounts, axles, harness, etc...

K24a4: Accord 160hp engine.. the benefit of this engine is that it is a potential Torq monster and the ability to interchange pieces with other K series.

B16: 1300usd
K24: 1000usd + K20a2 6speed tranny: 900aprox.. = 1900usd

now the crazyness starts here..

Since its a complete Drag car..

what about J30? (accord v6 engine) 240hp and 3lts of torq on a stripped Rex sounds FAST.. (mad modification to make it fit i guess) but still doable..

Other crazy thing that crossed my mind.. Maybe placing the engine in the back? i wont ask if it is possible because it is (money does everything i guess), but anyone knows if has been done?

Thanks for reading my night ideas..

this may be just my opinion, but i have raced like everything, 500hp 12sec dodge charger, 450hp 15sec f150 4x4 with 38inch boggers and 7 inch lift, motorbikes, and my old rex at the drag strip. The only thing i have really enjoyed is the brainwork and thinking it takes to make the ORIGINAL 1.5 powerful. But i mean thats just me I guess, but hey, too each his own.

yeah man i respect that, but even.. my crx got a D16, one of the sohc ones i dunno engine code..

The swap idea behind this is that the D16 is almost dead, is throwing a lot of smoke and i may sell it..

Also i want a more torquish engine and the ability to get new parts.

Other thing is that once the car is swaped i will put more money in to my 03 civic or i will buy another car so i want something that can handle big heavy powerfull muscle cars that run around here..

So the K series was a very good option for its bolt-on power potential.

And the idea of a V6 J series is just because i can get them "almost" at the same price at the K series.

91 CRX Si motor = D16A6, which is a SOHC motor.

it is also not a direct bolt-in in a g1 CRX.

have that much tq in a fwd car is worthless, all it means is the car will just spin more and more off the line... a guy I know has a built ass FWD talon, he has alot of parts alot of the AWD guys skip one because the tq isnt generated with those parts, stock parts work better for the AWD guys, but for the FWD guys the high end that comes with those parts is a huge benifit...

I would just get a b18c short block and a b16head with some stunk2 stage 3 stuff and a 100 shot, that should be good for a 12sec pass with ease(mabye 11 sec if your that good of a driver)

Dont bother with bullshit non fitting swaps... stick to the b motors.

IMO
