86 crx HF $50 (title issues that nobody wanted to deal with)
bought everything to do the B18B swap ( mad.gif 2 times mad.gif ) $2300 (approx.)

so for just under $2400 i got a decent looking, really quick car that nobody expects to be beat by.

most current pic of it from 3 weeks ago...
the green 5G hatch is my brothers car. the VX wheels on his car are now mine.

my first crx was an si cost $600 a year later i rusted to death but engine and interior amazing. then i got a 87 si for $100 and all the work it needed was replace the pedel brachet becase the small metal piece the held the clutch cable in place was busted off and the shift linage, because that was messed up(by the area where it conects to the trans).

best part about this is that the total cost include everthing even oil changes is around $800 and i have a garage filled with extra crx parts, and a perfectly fine si engine and trans

$5500 for the car. I would have to add up my receipts for the rest. The only real parts I have put on it are EDM corners, Cibie H-4 conversion headlights, Magnecore 8.8mm wires, and various tune up/maintainance bits. Spent some dough on dyno time and alignment though. Oh, and $37 for a black RPR shift knob. smile.gif

$900 for the car. About $1500 each year for the last 6-7 years since I bought it. So the total investment is approaching US$10K.

BUT: Beating the crap out of Yuppie scum in their US$35K BMW's at the autcross in my battered little Honda- Priceless.

This is not an investment, I do not expect to see a tangible return on my money. This is a lifestyle choice, a hobby, a diversion from all of life's petty BS.

I have created a monster. It is low, loud and uncomfortable. But it howls when I ask it to. And that is all I ask of it.

current crx-

250 for car
~1200 for system
so far, 600 in the motor (check my other thread)
and thats pretty much it... still under HEAVY construction, i have to do the interior, paint, tint, wheels, and petty stuff that all adds up big time.

so $2050 and growing. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

but it will be oh-so-worth it.

cbdtscott- i seem to remember you mentioned having your flywheel lightened, could i get some feedback from the operation? i have a flywheel that i put on a serious diet, will i lose a lot of driveability? gain much of anything? etc.

I would post how much I have spent on my CRX, but the last time I totaled it, it was around $9,000. Oh, well, it was worth it.

GOOD GOD!! I have you all SO beat!!

Car is appraised at $17,500.00 Canadian and I have probable spent closer to $20K on it to get it to where it is now.

I was looking through some stuff yesterday and found the reciept for the wheels! $1600 for the wheels and then an additional $800 for the tires, that's $2400 on rollers alone!! That's all Canadian dollars.
