engine in pic is acutally a RB25DET
We're now building a tube frame, comprized of two parts.
The first part will tie the torsion spring mounting points together with the firewall, bulkhead, and rockers. The rockers themselves are kind of crusty, so we're sectioning them out and reenforcing them with heavier material. (No floor makes for a very flexible shell.) The front frame wil also have attachment points for the rear frame.
The second part of the tube chassis will include the roll cage, motor mounts, and rear subframe mounting points. To make motor mounts, we're either going to modify the stock Nissan cross-member and incorporate it into the chassis, or we'll simply take measurements from it and build our own. The tubes should arrive pretty soon.
the new motor:
A couple of shots of where the rear end will eventually be:

wOw, I love you guyz! That's sick.
What are you gonna do about that pesky firewall?
And what poor soul will figure those electronics??
Any idea on the FR. to Rr. weight ratio?
What is your projects' time frame!?
Sorry for a million questions but what do you expect!?
Please keep us informed, I guarantee people will become very impatient. This thread is gonna be filled with question after question. You might want to schedule updates that way we all don't bug you. Maybe once a month? This is gonna get hairy. Ever see the thread on Honda-tech with the rear wheel drive del sol???
Anyhow, GoodLuck! Hope to see this in a mag and a car show/meet someday soon....

Kinda like the Corvette/CRX in GRM. Good luck with it, hope you can stiffen the chassis up enough!

Sick project!
The wiring is easy. It's just a Nissan with civic body on top. Use all the Nissan's wiring.
Were you guys specifically looking to use that engine? or did you want the rwd as well? I am asking this because the Pulsar GTR has that engine and is a has a fwd layout.
Nice work.

Nice. The SR20DET is an excellent motor. I lost drag racing (at the track) to a 91-94 SE-R pulling 12's with a SR20DET. Now the RB25/26DET, I would have loved in a 240-280Z.

Cool, very cool. Too bad it is a Nissan motor. NSX would make it cooler though. Either way my hat is off to you guys. Good luck!!
