First I must apologize I have been working on this car for months and not one photo, no updates.
Well thats all about to change.
The original focus was to build a very clean car, with just the right period correct parts.
nothing more nothing less. It seems almost easy these days to just throw a tone parts on a car.
I purchased the car last December and over the past 6 months I've been working hard and I'm happy to report that my car is (for the most part) is complete.
there are a lot of people I need to thank I couldn't have done this build without their help.
The black car now has a new home and has been sold to an owner who will take great care of it.
The red car which originally came from Texas has all the good bits from the black car but is sporting a real mugen rear wing and some rear disk brakes,
I was also able to source many nos parts for the car such as door trim, front lip spoiler, hood latch cable.......
The car has a brown top zc
91 civic front brakes
88 crx si seats
integra front sway bar
hf steering rack
header with OEM exhaust
momo steering wheel
DC sports shifter
All new ball joints and bushings
All new lights front and rear
13" mugen cf48 on 185/60/13s
shortened konis
22mm tbars
The big news
A few months ago I was contacted by Motor Trend Classic Magazine. This weekend I'll be heading to Detroit to have the car photographed for an upcoming article.
Not sure what's all involved except I hope the car will meet their expectations. I will fill you in next Tuesday when I get back.
for those not familiar with the publication, it's a a high quality magazine which features classics from the past. it's high gloss and perfect bound.
MotorTrend Classic
I still can't believe this is all happening.
Today I took a few pictures of the car while at work. For those who don't know me, I'm a professional photographer base North of Toronto. I won't be involved in photographing the car for Motor tend
but I'll bringing my resume along.
enjoy the pics there will be more

It looks awesome! How's the ride with the 22mm TB's and being that low? Do you bottom out? Also, what springs do you have in the rear?

When all the true peppers finish their cars and those real peppers that have, it will show their love and has for these beautys. And this is when our cars will get their true respect not in no junk yard but in salvage yards that are meant just for us who'll appreciate ALL parts and and continue to imbrace it. You my friend are a true red pepper! When I with the help of god, family, and (redpeppers) friends hope to become a true red pepper one day, like the media says "The 80's are back" DAMN this car is super hot. Great job, Very well restored hoped you had a redpepper decal oh her:).

The TBs are great. The big component with any suspension is the struts and shocks.
the whole suspension setup is based on shortened konis with 400 lb ground control springs in the rear.
I'm also using a custom perch which allows me to use a 2.5" spring.
here are the shocks
and here are the custom perchs
BTW thanks for all your comments. I've pushed very hard on this car and many of you have played an important part in it.
Today I spent nearly 12hours cleaning the car and I'm still not done.

Wow, beautiful job on this one as well. Way to continue to define what the rest of us should be doing, that's all I've got to say!
Have you given any thought to non-smoked tails? I think they might clean up the look in the rear with the panel. Perhaps they are non-tinted, but the exposure/lighting in the picture appears to make them darker.
Also, I'm sure I speak for the rest of us when I ask you these questions:
(1) Is that original paint?! If so, I want to know what time-machine you used.
also
(2) Any more info you can shed on your fog light set-up; brand; install; etc...I like the way the look. Usually I don't prefer aftermarket fogs on Honda's, but (IMHO) these work!
Congrats on the magazine shoot! Way to represent RPR!!!!
Mugen wing: wow!

yup they are the smoked tail lights. your right about the centre panel but I feel I'm pulling it off only because the car is red.
also the panel has a dark border which ties in with the darker tail lights.
that rear section is very pronounced on my car now.
No it's not original paint however it's single stage which (you may all disagree) I think is more period correct.
the fogs are one of the few items which strays from the line. A friend and I came up with this idea back in the mid 90's
I found a fog light at Canadian Tire which after cutting a hole in the bumper cover fits flush.
Again in my opinion they look more OE then the OE ones.
I also have the switch located in a Triple Canadian bezel right beside the sunroof switch.
in Canadian DX models we had a manual choke where I now run my dimmer.

Man, I need to get off my arse and finish mine. It's also single stage red but I haven't done the final cleanup sanding/polishing/waxing yet. Plus it's got a few inclusions since I sprayed it in a dusty shop, and the body work isn't 100% since it was my first shot at that.
Still, your car makes me want to finish mine. They'd look pretty damn similar...
