I am just passed 11 years of owning my CRX, my current record for ownership. I generally keep my daily drivers for a comparatively long time, but the hobby car has earned the record as longest in my fleet.
The shortest I have owned a car was a brand-new Toyota Camry that lasted from July of 2002 until November 2002 (four months) because we hated that thing. My wife had a couple of new Accords before we got the Toyota and I was willing to buy her another Accord. But she insisted that she did not want to drive "the same car" and demanded a Camry. Within one week of ownership she was asking for her old Accord back. We replaced the Camry with a third Accord.

Shortest was a 1991 Honda Civic Si Hatch. I bought it on my return home for winter vacation on a Friday, Registrered it on a Tuesday, and totalled it pulling out of the town office parking lot when head on hit by a pickup truck.
Longest was probably my 1990 Mazda RX-7 convertible. I owned that from Spring of 2001 to Spring of 2002. I don't tend to keep cars very long. My current two cars I got my CRX in November and my Turbo 850 wagon in September.

My daily driver, and the only running car in the family at the moment is a 1987 Toyota 4x4 short bed pickup. I bought it brand new in late 87. It has rust holes in the sides of the bed you can stick your head through!
It's rough. Because of the tons of rust, I call it my "Jap Rod."

I tend to hang onto vehicles.
Longest: 24 years for my recently sold '86 CRX
Shortest: 2 years for my '79 Civic 1200, which I totaled. Otherwise I'd still have it!

longest i have owned a car would be my current 93 honda accord. have had it for over 8 years now. 268,000 miles and still doing great. love this car and dont plan to move onto another for quite a while. it's had it's fair share of abuse (thats putting it lightly) and started using some oil a while back but i have another solid engine awaiting install here real soon.
shortest i would have to say would have been a 89 ford escort purchased for my ex many years ago. it ran for a total of right at 2 weeks then the timing belt broke. i gave the car to a guy i worked with for his step-daughter. i even bought him the timing belt and had it sitting in the car for him when he came and picked it up. just wanted it gone so we could move on to getting a real car.
i have owned 9 vehicles in my life. still have 4 of them. of the 5 i have gotten rid of, 2 were totaled by others, 1 was sent to junk because thats all it ever was even the day pontiac sent it out the door, 1 given away for the same reason, 1 was sold and still on the road

When I die, i want to go asleep peaceful.......... not screaming and freaking out like everyone else in the car

Shortest : a '67 Chevelle (the first one) April 74- July 74 - it was parked cozily on the street in front of my parents house , before a alcohol impaired driver choose to hit it , rather than a marauding nocturnal herd of pink elephants , totaling it out . No pink elephants were harmed .
Longest : 1987 Honda Crx , purchased in Jan 87 , I rolled it off the showroom floor with 0.4 miles on the odometer . it's still my daily driver . Yep, the yellow one over there to the left .

Longest: 1986 CRX DX
Had it from Sept. 1986 to August 2009.
Plan was to keep the CRX 3 years, then trade it in. Never did find a good reason to let it go.
When I got bored with the car, I dropped in a B16. (That CRX's last 22,000 miles went by real fast!)
Shortest: 1978 VW pop-top camper bus
Owned for just 3 months.
Took a job overseas and needed (WANTED!) to sell.
VW van. Bad idea. What was I thinking?

not sure about my longest, but i know my shortest for sure.
my only second gen crx si; b16a swap; cf hood, body kit, suspension, less than thirty days.
totaled it due to lack of examining the condition of tires. (rears were bald) spun out, hitting center divider.

Well thank God for that, 'cause if I wasn't, this would probably have never worked.
