I bought my first 86 Civic with my very first paycheck, from my very first job. I paid $500 bones to pick up the car that needed a paint job and a clutch in the near future...My next paycheck was to replace the clutch, and the next to paint! Here is what she looked like after the paint...
I eventually swapped the B16 in there, and had a blast revving it to 9.5k rpm after the headwork..
Did other things like the knock off recaros and harnesses...rocked those for a while..
This is how I used to roll on the street With the headlight removed for the intake lol
Then this happened....I figured instead of just quick fixing it, I would try to build it up. Fresh paint, and a new motor coming soon..
A few pics of the primer process...
And the car didn't get painted after that! My friend that was helping me paint had a lot going through his life at the time, and he wasnt able to help me finish the paint. So I rocked it for a while I did the LS Vtec / turbo swap at the same time though...so a big boost in hp and fun!
Dumped!

And then dyno #1.....338hp 298tq at wastegate spring boost of 10lbs!
Then I started dressing up the engine bay a lil bit..
And a few pics of it before I swapped the chassis's
And then I found a nice and clean chassis from my friend! He brought the car over from Cali, blew the motor, and didn't have time to do the rebuild at that time. Sold it to me for $800 bones with some wheels on it that I eventually sold. Very clean car....original paint! It isnt the cleanest, but its not bad at all!

I just bought an B16A S1 Cable tranny....very short gears....
Need to buy the clutch, found an ACT 6 puck unsprung clutch for $100 shipped new, since I will be running the same clutch setup, but need the smaller splines coming from a YS1 tranny. This is the clutch I am using now, just need the correct one for the new tranny.
Also figured I would do the torsion bars at the same time, since they need to be upgraded and realigned....figured I would go with the 31mm since they are the same money as the 29mm

New Photoshoot with TribalHatch! Here is the link and a sample :
http://www.redpepper...showtopic=40385
9.28.08
My first video I have ever edited! I think it came out well...Check it out!
We were just messing around on some of the back roads of vegas....the car doesn't have much traction on low boost with the drag radials, so I can't fully push on it like I do at the track....
But now you guys can hear why I got my license plate....Spoooooolin!
****UPDATING THE FRONT PAGE IS A PAIN....Ill get into it again, until then, just follow the thread wherever it goes

I had the skunk2 stage2 cams/springs/retainers. The car made the power at 9500 rpm, and loved to be revved up.
Your guess is as good as mine on the bottom end. The bottom was stock, but we were thinking the block was abused before I bought it and had weak walls. Then when I revved it that high, it was only a matter of time.
I think that because I had to replace the rings since they were bad. I broke in the motor no problem, but a few nights racing, and it was done for.
I updated the list of what I have done to the car. Ask any questions if you like.

SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES.
THEY'RE NOT REALLY GOOD FOR
ANYTHING, BUT THEY STILL BRING A
SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN YOU PUSH
THEM DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS.
